Phrolova's Version 2.5 Buffs: Building Around the Havoc Team

Sources describe how Phrolova buffs Havoc and Heavy ATK DMG and name three comps. They give no damage numbers, so treat the builds as tested-by-you.

Version 2.5 of Wuthering Waves, titled Unfading Melody of Life, launches July 24, 2025 on all platforms. The headline is Phrolova, a 5-star Havoc Rectifier. Most guides promise a synergy build around the patch buffs. The sources give us the shape of that build, but not the numbers. This guide covers both halves.

What the patch actually brings

Phrolova debuts in the first featured banner, Requiem Without End, alongside the limited weapon Lethean Elegy. Sources describe her as a hybrid Havoc character who buffs her team's Havoc DMG and Heavy ATK DMG. That is the core of the patch for team building.

Roccia, a 5-star Havoc Gauntlet user, reruns in the first phase. Cantarella, a support-type Havoc Rectifier, and Brant, a Fusion Sword melee fighter, rerun in the second half. These are returning characters, not new ones. Taoqi appears as a 4-star in the first phase banner lineup.

The update also adds Steam Deck compatibility and a new Sonata Effect, Dream of the Lost. It raises Crit Rate and Echo Skill damage while the holder has zero Resonance Energy. Quality-of-life tools include auto-lock or auto-discard for Echoes based on custom plans, Sync Tuning with automatic Tuner use, and up to 10 saved preset teams.

The Phrolova, Roccia and Cantarella rotation

Gamerant's Phrolova guide lays out the clearest comp. Phrolova is most useful beside Havoc DPS units, and the named partners are Roccia and Cantarella. You quick-swap between all three.

The order matters. Phrolova uses her Resonance Liberation once Roccia is near her Outro Skill. That Outro buffs Roccia's Heavy ATK and Havoc DMG. After Roccia's Ultimate, you switch to Cantarella. She gains Havoc DMG and Basic ATK DMG, plus a small flat ATK buff.

Cantarella also feeds Phrolova. Most of her damage counts as Echo Skill DMG, and that triggers Phrolova's Hecate attacks again and again. The guide calls Cantarella important for sustainability in this team. It is a loop. Each character covers a gap the next one opens.

Other comps and flex options

The same guide lists three teams: Phrolova with Roccia and Cantarella, Phrolova with Sanhua and Cantarella, and Phrolova with Taoqi and Shorekeeper. The sources say nothing about what Sanhua, Shorekeeper or Taoqi actually do in these slots. Treat those two as options, not explained builds.

Phrolova can also act as a Heavy ATK buffer for Phoebe and Jiyan. That is useful if your Havoc bench is thin. Ask yourself a plain question first. Do you own Roccia and Cantarella? If you do, the main comp is open to you. If you do not, the alternatives rest on thinner descriptions.

Brant is a separate case. His Version 2.1 notes list Support and Healer roles, Basic Attack DMG, and Fusion DMG and Resonance Skill DMG amplification. The 2.5 sources do not place him in a Phrolova team, so any pairing is a guess.

What the sources do not tell us

The buffs are described, but not quantified. The sources give no damage figures, rotation timings or tier rankings for these teams. Gamerant's rankings rest on the writer's descriptions, not tested output.

  • No stat or skill values for Phrolova's Outro, Hecate or Resonance Liberation.
  • No recommended Echo sets, Sonata pairings or build stats.
  • No full weapon list beyond Lethean Elegy.
  • No banner rates or pity details.
  • No Steam Deck performance comparison.

So the rotation above is a working hypothesis from one guide. Test it before you spend pulls on it.

Before you log in

Maintenance runs July 24 from 04:00 to 11:00 (UTC+8). Pre-download opened July 22 at 10:00 (UTC+8). PC needs 8 GB, with about 16 GB spare recommended. Android and iOS need 7 GB, plus about 14 GB for decompression, which is freed after maintenance.

Compensation is Astrite x300 and Crystal Solvent x2. You qualify if you created a character and unlocked Mails before 04:00 on July 24 (UTC+8). Check that one first. It is the only concrete reward in the sources that costs you nothing.

Then build from what is confirmed. Pick the three Havoc characters, follow the swap order, and log what your own damage looks like. That beats any ranking built on adjectives.
